Marta Lipowska, born in 1978, is a Polish painter. Her impressionistic paintings explore themes of the everyday while focusing on the materiality of paint, and engaging in the innately physical process of painting.
Exploration of Paint
Lipowska’s paintings are far more process-oriented than they are thematic. There are, however, many subjects that she explores in her pieces: from figurative depictions of everyday life to verdant landscapes and serene seascapes. The figures in her paintings and even the fragments of her own life that she depicts are merely there to provide the composition for this larger exploration of colour and light.
