About this artwork

I was very inspired by the story of Fernand Bachmann's grandson, where Nicolas discovered, in the attic of the family property, a large trunk containing archives, medals, cups, car parts, and photos. He then discovered the story of his great-grandfather Fernand, a pioneer among racing drivers and a member of the winning team in the first edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The story was too beautiful to leave in an attic. He decided to revive it… by creating, with his cousin, Vincent Verdier, a ready-to-wear line for "gentlemen drivers."
