About this artwork
At the center appears a dark core, a silent eye that observes and absorbs, symbolizing the mystery of existence and that which we cannot always explain with words. The circular forms and visible textures arise from an intuitive… and spontaneous process, where each brushstroke leaves an emotional imprint on the canvas.
With “The Eye of Life,” I seek to create an immediate connection with the viewer: a work that appears minimalist, yet is charged with intensity, depth, and meaning. My intention is that whoever contemplates it can experience it personally, allowing the color, form, and emptiness to speak for themselves.

Adolfo Vázquez Burgos, Toledo, 1974
My painting is an exploration of emotion through abstraction. I seek to transform feelings, energy, and movement into a visual language constructed through color, gesture, and texture. Each work is born intuitively, without preliminary sketches, allowing matter and movement to guide the creative process. I work with acrylics, brushes, palette knives, and gestural techniques to create compositions full of strength, rhythm, and emotion. My career has been recognized with several works that were finalists and semifinalists in the 2026 Target Painting Prize, and I am currently participating in the 41st BMW Painting Prize. I will also be exhibiting on August 28, 29, and 30, 2026, at the Hotel Pintor El Greco in Toledo. I paint to transform emotions into color, movement, and life, creating unique works that invite the viewer to feel, interpret, and connect with them through their own experience.
