About this artwork
This painting, created through free improvisation, is influenced by an idea conveyed in the film "Day of Revelation," which resonates with my view of humanity. The idea is that empathy is an evolutionary advantage.
A story of the past and the present. The unknown, that which slips through our fingers... Nature, antiquity, the earthly and the spiritual.
We think we're gods, but we're just monkeys who've gotten ahead.
Gestural, intuitive painting… that lets things happen and relies on what emerges. Taking advantage of the unexpected and accepting the consequences.

Alfonso Sánchez, artist of biological origins whose main tool is painting. Experimenting with acrylics, Indian ink, sprays and tempera, he leads to an expressionist style, abstraction with figuration. It allows accidents to happen, resulting in spontaneously charming works. Through his art, Sánchez investigates the human essence, the ties with our wild nature and visions of the future, emanating an introspective and projective search for humanity.
