About this artwork
Saaler See V is part of my series about Lake Saale – a tranquil natural refuge in my homeland. With this watercolor, I want to capture the special atmosphere of a place where light, water, and vegetation merge into a moment of profound peace. The mirror-like surface of the water dissolves the boundary between landscape and reflection, creating a space of stillness and contemplation.
I am fascinated by the power of natural light, which gently connects… the old tree, the riverbank, and the vibrant shades of green. Transparent layers of watercolor create depth, lightness, and an atmosphere that draws the viewer into the landscape.
This contemporary original landscape watercolor combines naturalistic depiction of nature with a poetic, biophilic visual language and is aimed at collectors who appreciate atmospheric forest and lake landscapes as well as original watercolor art.

Annett Coumont is a contemporary German watercolor artist who lives and works near Cologne. A self-taught artist, she has developed a distinctive visual language that combines naturalistic observation with impressionistic light and a contemporary, biophilic aesthetic.
