About this artwork
The Room Changed explores the moment an abstract structure begins to feel unexpectedly human. Layers of violet, black, and electric yellow move between containment and emergence, creating a composition that feels simultaneously architectural and psychological.
Built through repeated revisions and ultimately reoriented vertically, the painting developed an unsettling internal presence — as if a figure or memory had surfaced through the surface itself.… The dark lattice compresses the movement while luminous gestures push outward against it, producing tension between confinement and revelation.
Rather than resolving completely into image or gesture, the work remains suspended in ambiguity, inviting the viewer to recognize forms that may or may not be there at all.
