About this artwork
Per Gradus, "in stages", is an exploration of inner movement, that which manifests itself neither in urgency nor in rupture, but in a slow transformation.
The blocks of color meet, brush against each other, and respond to one another. Each form seems to find its place through a silent dialogue, like the different facets of a being in search of balance. The contrasts do not oppose each other: they coexist, adjust, and participate in the construction… of a new inner space.
This work evokes a more peaceful renewal, where every step forward, however small, becomes essential. It celebrates the power of gradual changes, those that develop over time and bring about lasting transformation.
Per Gradus is an invitation to embrace the journey, to recognize that the most profound transformations often arise from a succession of small steps. Little by little, each person moves towards what they are meant to become…

Antoine Junior Alves is a Parisian abstract painter whose work is based on the pure expression of emotion through gesture and color. His practice is instinctive: creating responds to an inner necessity, each canvas born from a sincere impulse. The gesture, free and sometimes raw, is guided by the body and intuition, while color becomes a language capable of translating the ineffable.
Her paintings do not seek to represent reality, but to evoke sensations. Each one carries its own energy, ranging from tension and serenity to spontaneity. The viewer is invited to feel freely, without any imposed interpretation.
"Creation is an infinite source that, in my opinion, borders on magic. In a world where everything often moves so fast, painting is an art that allows us to remain frozen in time and to capture eternal truths that aim to provoke thought. Life should be graceful: living is an art."
