Children do not start wars. They simply inherit them.
The blindfold is real — a physical band stretched across the canvas. On one side, a tank. On the other, his father — arms wrapped around him, trying to shield him from what is coming. That tension is the entire painting. Protection and destruction, side by side.
This piece is called *Dad* — because behind every child shaped by war is that image: a father trying to be enough. Against bombs. Against… greed. Against the inhumanity of powers that will never see this child's face.
No child should know the sound of explosions before the sound of laughter. And yet millions do.
I know this child. I was raised in the shadow of the same violence. What war does to a child does not stay in the past — it travels with them, quietly, into everything they become.
This is generational trauma. This is now.
And we are all responsible for what we choose not to see.
