She has seen it all.
The buses fleeing. The warplanes overhead. The fires that swallow everything. And still — she stands. Eyes covered, tears painted in raw blue down her face, yet her jaw is set. Her lips, slightly parted, as if she is about to speak. Or scream. Or simply breathe.
The blindfold is real — a physical band stretched across the canvas, carrying the weight of what she was forced to witness. Around her, orange explosions erupt. The world… burns. And she remains.
But I ask myself — and I ask you: is she resilient, or simply unlucky?
Because sometimes what we call strength is just survival with no other choice.
This series lives intentionally on a grungy, raw background — because there is no clean backdrop to war. No neat frame for atrocity.
This is the third piece in a series of seven. Each face carries a different wound, a different age, a different story — but the same blindfold. The same silence imposed.
