About this artwork
I developed the series "A Hat Comes Around the Corner" in response to Joseph Beuys. I explore the Beuys before the "Beuys" and address the fascinating transformation of Joseph Beuys into the "Beuys" brand. Communication between artist and viewer was just as important to Beuys as the artist's creative process. He wanted to have an impact through image, word, and language.
