About this artwork
Som Tum, or papaya salad, is a delicious and spicy northeastern Thai dish. In this painting, I drew a cat selling Som Tum, making a gesture similar to the famous painting The Scream by artist Edvard Munch. I painted this picture to convey the trading problems in times of economic hardship, which cause quite a lot of pressure.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Chaiwat Chinnasot, experiences with cartooning, works across oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, and sculpture. His technique fuses vibrant, nostalgic scenes of Thai life with both 2D and 3D stylings, blending realistic portraits and playful cartoon influences. His art evokes a rich, emotional tapestry—dreamlike and deeply sentimental—inviting viewers to find beauty, meaning, and cherished memories within each piece.
