About this artwork
It is judgment by fire, by iron, by sword or by Colt that the exterminating angels, psychopomps dispatched from heaven, take it upon themselves to execute, revealing through the Apocalypse the dark and cold face of the resurrection.
Not content with this "simple" punishment, humanity, upstream, inflicts a double one upon itself when man, like a god, proclaims, like this "president" before television viewers worldwide, after the execution of a "terrorist":… "Justice has been done!" These images by DMKF are, in my opinion, the harshest of this collection exhibited here, and their chilling aesthetic beauty plunges us into spaces governed by reason. These images leave us perplexed, so present is the question: "What is the nature of the reason presiding over such justice?" Our thoughts, helpless, falter, captivated by the scandal revealed by the image of the ordeal, the ordeal by reason, by the law... "dura lex sed lex" (the law is harsh, but it is the law).
