Two large plane trees shimmer in the midday sun.
Their generous shadows stretch lazily over the clumps of grass and flowers and contrast with the paths which are already dazzling with light.
The Rue de Rivoli, its arcades, its high windows, its curved roofs, provide a luminous and theatrical backdrop to the whole.
And the marble vases seem to stand guard before this beautiful spectacle.
The drawing used as the basis for the painting was done… on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 1 p.m.
