About this artwork
The tide goes out and the meanders of the river gradually reveal sandbanks, dotted with rocks and scattered with crab shells or empty shells.
The dry sand is dazzling with light, bordered by a line of more golden wet sand, then by another thin layer of turquoise water.
All sorts of herbs line its banks: glasswort, sea purslane, dry… grasses or tender herbs…
In the distance, between the trees, Lesconil sparkles with light against an azure background.
The drawing that served as the basis for the painting was made on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
Dry pastel on reconstituted wood panel
