About this artwork
Everywhere we look, we see the traces of time through the aging processes on people, objects, and in nature. What a fascinating subject for art! Even in the creation of an artwork, we discover traces of the creative process and can thus experience its dynamic nature. Some traces are deliberately placed, others arise by chance, and some are the result of a natural process. With "Traces of Time," I wanted to create and allow traces of the painting…
process to emerge. In the multi-layered painting technique, some of the traces solidified, while others disappeared. The result is a richly detailed, color-intensive painting whose depth and color atmosphere invite contemplation and reflection on time.
