About this artwork

« There is a magical moment when the will seems to diverge in favor of an image that is essential. »
Jean-Claude Bernard is an award-winning French painter whose work is exhibited nationally and included in permanent collections worldwide. Working with a palette knife and acrylics, Bernard layers soft colors and gestural forms to create abstract paintings that evoke a sense of movement and stillness. On his canvases, human forms and gentle landscapes emerge organically, sometimes almost hidden among the textured knife strokes.
