James Oliver Jones Jr
United States
James Oliver Jones Jr. occupies a rare space in the contemporary art world: he is a self-taught master whose pedigree was forged not in the academy, but through the mentorship of legends like Beauford Delaney and the fires of mid-century sociopolitical movements. A prolific civil rights advocate and thought leader, James expresses his understanding of the human condition through visual innovation. His career is marked by milestones such as the distinction of being the first artist to paint on the Berlin Wall and co-exhibiting alongside titans such as Picasso and Miró. His global legacy includes exhibitions in Amsterdam, Bali, Bangkok, Berlin, Hong Kong, Las Palmas, Milan, New York City, Paris, Rome, San Francisco, Singapore, and Tokyo.
