About this artwork
Completed 08/17 and drying. This painting ships in mid-September, 2026.
This striking oil painting on canvas, titled "Portrait of a Lady" offers a powerful contemporary expression. The artist revisits 90s influences, infusing them with decades of refined skill and a modern perspective. The deep Alizarin Crimson background dramatically pushes the central figure forward, suggesting an individual navigating a dynamic world filled with fresh challenges… and opportunities for triumph. Her gloved hand potently crushes flowers in a vase...were they a gift perhaps? Its a message of defiance, of independence and of standing against the tides.
The interplay of bold colors against the commanding crimson, create a visually engaging experience. They play together, as children would, relishing their moments and forgetting all else.
Don't miss the chance to add this one to your collection. Its beyond a conversation piece. Its an experience.

« Either way, my message for the viewer is simple. Enjoy my work for its visual elements. Experience the excitement of the micro, macro, and then the subliminal. Rinse and repeat. »
Jon Parlangeli is a passionate American painter and sculptor who has widely exhibited his work throughout the U.S. Fascinated by the process of creation, he composes works that experiment with color and the physicality of paint. Parlangeli's creations stand out for their depth and tactility, appearing as explosions of bright color and unexpected shapes. Parlangeli additionally includes a representational balance of nature and humanity in his work, that merges with abstract elements to create a kind of historic bibliophile hidden in the paint.
