About this artwork
The primordial bond between the inner universe and the archetype through a powerful graphic and conceptual minimalism. The nude figure, captured from behind and stripped of any social or temporal superstructure, becomes pure plastic form to welcome a large black crow with spread wings, which seems to originate from her own hair or rest protectively upon her. In symbolic iconography, the crow functions as a guardian of the night, a spirit guide, and… a ferryman through shadows and processes of deep metamorphosis. The sharp chromatic contrast between the ethereal body, the deep black of the plumage, and the vivid red background amplifies the emotional tension of the scene, transforming the painting into the visual narrative of an initiatory passage: a solemn moment in which the soul accepts its own shadow to rediscover its strength and begin a spiritual rebirth.
Krystsina Losik, a painter with a background in Multimedia Arts and Interior Design, primarily uses acrylics, blending Belarusian and Italian experience. Her technique embraces magical and symbolic realism through a contemporary style rich in color contrasts, ornamental details, and suspended atmospheres; the centrality of the female body as an archetype dominates each work. Her canvases evoke profound emotions, shrouded in mystery, strength, and vulnerability, becoming silent mirrors in which each viewer can reflect themselves and compare their own light and shadow.
