About this artwork
It celebrates silence, contemplation, and the mystery of the inner universe. The female figure, captured in a solemn pose with half-closed eyes, emerges from a deep and absolute darkness that erases any spatial or temporal connotation. In her hands, she cradles and displays a pomegranate illuminated by a vivid light, an ancient archetype of fertility, secrets, and the cycle of life. The contrast between the rich, intricate texture of the green garment,… the striking floral headdress, and the darkness of the background amplifies the visual sacredness of the scene. This is not the portrait of an individual, but the staging of a suspended state of mind: the intimate and meditative moment in which the soul becomes the guardian of an ancient, profound knowledge.
Krystsina Losik, a painter with a background in Multimedia Arts and Interior Design, primarily uses acrylics, blending Belarusian and Italian experience. Her technique embraces magical and symbolic realism through a contemporary style rich in color contrasts, ornamental details, and suspended atmospheres; the centrality of the female body as an archetype dominates each work. Her canvases evoke profound emotions, shrouded in mystery, strength, and vulnerability, becoming silent mirrors in which each viewer can reflect themselves and compare their own light and shadow.
