Quiet Tides of the Plain captures the subtle movement of light across an open landscape where earth, water, and sky merge into a single atmospheric field. Soft blues drift through the clouds above, while muted browns, ochres, and pale greys spread across the land below, creating a sense of distance and calm.
The painting is built through layered, expressive brushwork, where textures appear to erode and reform like natural terrain shaped by wind and… time. Patches of blue emerge within the earth tones, suggesting shallow water or reflections, adding depth and quiet rhythm to the composition.
Rather than focusing on detail, the work conveys the feeling of standing in a vast, silent place where the horizon stretches endlessly. The balance between softness and rough texture gives the scene a contemplative mood, inviting the viewer to slow down and absorb the stillness.
