About this artwork
I painted this picture in bright, intense colors – an explosion of blues, turquoises, and violets that intertwine to create a vibrant background. Dynamic, broad brushstrokes and impasto application of paint create a vibrant surface that conveys both movement and emotion.
The central figure is a woman in a light-colored dress, calmly and almost dreamily holding a black cat in her arms. Her delicate features and gentle expression form a striking contrast… to the expressive, almost wild layers of color surrounding her.
With this work, I wanted to depict the interplay of tranquility and inner strength – the delicate light on the woman's face, surrounded by a sea of color and emotion. Every brushstroke contributes to the depth of the painting and allows the scene to float between reality and a dream world.
