In "The Weight of Blue," I explore how color can convey emotions. For me, blue is not just a color—it represents stillness, depth, and those invisible thoughts we carry within us. It surrounds the character like an inner landscape and becomes a mirror to their emotional world.
I deliberately painted the face calmly and simply. I'm interested in the moment between closeness and distance, between presence and withdrawal. In contrast, the powerful,… impasto brushstrokes and palette knife marks unfold freely across the hair and clothing. They reveal the painting process and lend the image a vibrant energy.
