About this artwork
It is a diptych consisting of two framed wooden panels (the frame measures 109x69x5.5 cm) but at the same time both paintings have their own autonomy and in this case they are offered for sale individually.
Inside the wonderful Boboli Gardens in Florence, a small historic coffee house offers a privileged view of the city, in the shade of the umbrellas, in the lawns and in an elevated position. The painter avoids images that are too conventional,… leaving the task of evoking the spirit of the place, in the light of the summer afternoon, with the colors of the vegetation and buildings in the distance to the details. Panel (A) shows umbrellas in relation to the urban landscape behind them, while in panel (B) the umbrellas emerge from the darkness in an almost abstract dimension.

Marco Ronga is an experienced painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally and in England. He describes his works as fusing themes of the portrait and the human figure with suggestions of urban architecture and the landscape resuting in "portraits of places and landscapes of bodies". Ronga's painterly compositions are most often created with acrylics and oils on wood or canvas.
