About this artwork
"Surface" is a textured oil painting that explores the relationship between light, movement, and depth. An intense layering of blues, lines, and textures creates a constantly evolving surface, suspended between water, reflection, and an imaginary landscape.
The work doesn't represent a specific location, but invites the viewer to immerse themselves in an undefined space, where perception continually shifts. The deep blues of cobalt and ultramarine… interact with luminous passages, creating visual depth and a strong sense of movement. The paint makes the surface physically present, transforming light into a dynamic element.
"Surface" is born from research into materiality, perception, and the tension between what appears on the surface and what remains hidden. An abstract and immersive painting, designed for contemporary collections focused on material, research, and the expressiveness of gesture.
