About this artwork
Roháče IV is an original abstract painting inspired by the dramatic yet tranquil landscape of the Roháče Mountains in the Western Tatras, Slovakia.
The painting does not seek to reproduce the landscape literally. Instead, it captures the emotional essence of the mountains — their silence, strength and timeless presence. Layered forms and restrained geometric shapes suggest distant peaks while leaving space for the viewer's own interpretation.
Created… using Meka's signature Thick Paint technique, the work is built through multiple layers of acrylic applied with a palette knife. The heavily textured surface gives the painting a sculptural quality, allowing light to interact with the raised layers and creating subtle changes in depth and atmosphere.
Deep blue tones are balanced with warm natural neutrals, evoking the contrast between mountain shadows, open sky and the surrounding landscape. The composition reflects the artist's ongoing exploration of nature through contemporary abstrac

Credentials
- Works on commission
Meka is a contemporary abstract artist based in Slovakia, working primarily with acrylic on canvas. Her work is defined by a distinctive “thick-paint” technique, where layers of paint are applied using a palette knife to create a rich, sculptural surface.
Inspired by landscapes, memory, and emotional perception of space, her paintings translate natural forms into simplified, abstract compositions. Rather than depicting reality, Meka captures atmosphere—transforming mountains, horizons, and terrain into balanced color fields and tactile structures.
Her work is characterized by a refined palette of muted tones combined with bold contrasts, creating a dialogue between calmness and intensity. Each piece is designed not only as an artwork, but as a visual element that interacts with interior space.
Meka’s paintings are part of private collections and are created with a strong focus on harmony, texture, and timeless aesthetic.
