About this artwork
"The stillness it imposes" is part of my series Animals that look at us, a collection that explores presence through the animal gaze.
In this work, the bull does not express its strength through movement, but through calmness.
His direct gaze and immobility convey a serene authority that invites you to stop and hold his gaze.
More than representing an animal, I wanted to create a presence that speaks of balance, respect, and the strength that… comes from silence.

Credentials

I don't paint to fill walls. I paint to create connections.
The sea, women, and animals are my language for giving shape to emotions that often cannot find words.
In each work I explore the strength, calm, vulnerability and beauty of that which unites us as human beings.
I believe in an art that goes beyond decoration: an art that transforms a space, invites you to stop and remains in the life of whoever decides to make it their own.
I am Natalia Avondet, a Uruguayan artist based in Spain.
My work stems from observation, emotion, and the need to transform what I feel into images that can connect with others.
Each painting is an invitation to look, feel, and find something of oneself in it.
