About this artwork
In this second portrait from the Azul series, I chose to depict my muse with her gaze lowered, conveying a more introspective presence. The vertical composition reinforces a sense of fragile balance. Her long, flowing hair complements this downward movement of her gaze and prolongs this impression of quiet gentleness. Created with oil and copper leaf on a wooden panel, the work plays on the contrast between the softness of her face and the luminous…
variations brought by the copper; a dialogue between matter and light. With this work, I continue my exploration of this fragile presence, poised between withdrawal and inner intensity, at the heart of the Azul series.
