About this artwork
“Sonata-Fantaisie” takes up the sound world of Scriabin’s Sonata No. 2, Op. 19, which, in its duality, oscillates between yearning expansiveness and eruptive passion. In the painting, this ambivalence is made tangible through dynamic color gradients and energetic lines: golden, erupting structures cut through the dark, almost oppressive surroundings, creating a field of tension between light and shadow, departure and resistance.
Viewers are immediately… drawn into a process of urging and detachment – similar to music, where dreamy stillness alternates with turbulent movement. This creates an image of inner turmoil and simultaneous transcendence, which does not depict the emotional dimension of the sonata, but translates it into a new, visual language.
