About this artwork
In this piece, I wanted to explore the hypnotic dialogue between the surface of the water and the sky above. By capturing the delicate dance of water lilies as they bloom and drift, I aimed to freeze a fleeting moment of natural harmony.
The water acts as a mirror, reflecting the soft, shifting clouds, while the vibrant petals of the lilies provide a rhythmic focus point. Using professional oil paints and subtle glazing techniques, I sought to create… a sense of depth and fluidity, where the boundaries between the sky and the water seem to dissolve. This painting is a reflection of my personal search for silence and beauty in the everyday—an invitation for the viewer to step into a tranquil space, slow down, and immerse themselves in the calming colors of nature.
Every brushstroke was applied with intention, using high-quality linen canvas to ensure that the light—much like the ripples on the water—retains its inner glow.

I am Elena Kuzenko (Olena Kuzenko), a professional oil painter based in Odesa, Ukraine. I completed my training at an art school in St. Petersburg, mastering classical realism, anatomy, and color theory. I am focusing on human-made art that captures emotional truth through the strict logic of light and shadow. My painting style is deeply inspired by the mastery of light and shadow found in the works of Rembrandt, the fluid brushwork of John Singer Sargent, and the atmospheric color palette of Claude Monet.
My professional achievements include winning the XX International Art Festival "MALUY.UA" in Kyiv and being published in the April 2026 issue of Arty Rat magazine. Regionally, I constantly exhibit my works in local galleries in Odessa. Globally, my artwork has been exhibited on the West Coast of California, and this upcoming autumn, two of my paintings will be proudly presented at an exhibition in the center of Barcelona, Spain.
