This work presents a dreamlike Japanese landscape suspended between memory, mythology, and imagination. Inspired by traditional nihonga paintings, classical Japanese scenery, and kaiju imagery, the composition combines Mount Fuji, flowing water, and lush natural elements with the ghostly silhouette of Godzilla emerging through the mist. The vibrant pink atmosphere transforms the familiar landscape into an emotional and surreal vision.
The painting… was created on an antique traditional Japanese hanging scroll dating from the early 20th century, allowing the work to physically connect with Japan’s artistic heritage. I chose acrylic paint for its vivid color intensity and layered texture, while the contemporary reinterpretation of classical Japanese aesthetics allowed me to merge historical atmosphere with modern visual storytelling.
