About this artwork
An old man listens, hunched over, to whatever is going on. At 76, I thought to myself, I can easily portray myself as an old man.
In this piece of wood, I have captured the inner peace and reflection that sometimes afflicts us all. The curved posture suggests vulnerability and thoughtfulness, while the rough cuts reflect the raw, natural essence of life. This work brings an almost meditative, peaceful energy to the room and invites one to pause… and listen deeply within.
