Living Matter emerges from the tension between image and process. The work does not aim to represent, but to let painting act: layers, transfers, and erasures create an unstable presence where figures appear and dissolve.
There is a constant friction between recognition and loss, as if the image were simultaneously fading and forming. The material itself is not just a support, but the subject: it breathes, resists, and holds memory.

Roberto Gutiérrez Currás (1974, Seville, Spain) is a painter based in Marbella, represented by Galería Nítido.
She has held solo exhibitions in Spain and Mexico, including at the Ralli Museum (Marbella) and the Museum of Anthropology in Xalapa (Mexico). Her work has been presented internationally in New York, Paris, Shanghai, and Mexico City.
He has been a finalist in various painting awards, including the Juan Francés National Prize (2025) and the Almuzara Prize (2022).
