Rosangela Rotella

Italy

Rosangela Rotella is a self-taught artist who pursues independent figurative research, free from academic constraints and driven by a profound need for expression. Her painting often stems from feelings and inner experiences, translated onto canvas through a realistic, material, and expressive language. Her work focuses primarily on the feminine: figures draped in timeless clothing, creating a dialogue between memory and contemporaneity, reinforced by the use of acrylics. Rotella does not seek hyperrealism, but rather an interpreted and credible realism, informed by poetry, symbolism, and interiority. Through gestures, postures, and silences, her subjects express fragility and courage, inviting the viewer to go beyond appearances. In 2026, one of her works was acquired by the permanent collection of the Chianciano Terme Art Museum. That same year, her work was featured in the Focus ARTE special of La Repubblica.
