About this artwork
XXL Where the Ridge Meets the Deep 120 X 80 cm
Inspired by the dramatic landscape of Llyn Cau - a glacial lake nestled inside a volcanic crater rim in Eryri (Snowdonia), Wales. This striking abstract piece captures the powerful contrast between the stillness of the mountain waters and the rugged beauty of the surrounding peaks.
Deep, immersive teals and cool aquas dominate the canvas, evoking the mysterious depths of the lake. Across the center,… a highly textured, vibrant horizontal burst of warm coral, fiery gold, and rich magenta mirrors the wild heather, weathered volcanic rock, and shifting Welsh sunlight breaking across the ridges.
Where the Ridge Meets the Deep is a beautiful balance of chaotic energy and serene depth, bringing the raw, untamed spirit of the Welsh wilderness into any modern space.

« Art has to stir my soul. The true value of a painting lies not in its technical mastery or whether it might be considered a 'masterpiece'. Instead, I am driven by the desire to create art that offers genuine pleasure to those who view it. My intention is not to pursue perfection, but rather to produce work that resonates with people on a personal and emotional level. »
