About this artwork
This work was born from my exploration of the concept of inner transformation and the discovery of the sacred hidden in matter.
Inspired by the ancient alchemical practices of transmuting base metals into gold, I sought to explore how the canvas could bear witness to a universal psychological process: the soul's ability to sublimate the chaos of everyday life and extract from it a precious, pure, and incorruptible essence.
For me, "Alchemical… Vent" represents a visual investigation of that precise moment when a wound, a pain, or a deep fracture transforms into the point of maximum light and value of our being, embodying the strength of resilience and the beauty of human vulnerability, expressed in miniature.
What do you think? Do you also sense that vital, almost mineral-like force pulsating within this precious golden fissure?

Valeria Pianese, who signs her works with the pseudonym “Berry,” is a Neapolitan artist living in Zurich whose visual research explores the relationship between color, emotion, symbolism, and consciousness as the primary means to peer into the depths of the human soul.
Influenced by Mediterranean European culture and literature and by an interest in behavioral psychology, Valeria conceives art not only as a tool for investigating experience and reality, but also as an inner transformation and a process of ongoing research.
His technique is characterized by an experimental and intuitive approach that combines chromatic layering and active painting, creating material surfaces and compositions vibrant with energy between abstraction and emotion.
His works therefore move in a liminal space between sensory perception and philosophical reflection, inviting the viewer to question the way images influence the way we feel and understand the world.
