About this artwork
THE LAND REMEMBERS is an original one-of-a-kind mixed-media artwork inspired by Montserrat and by the traces that fire leaves on the land.
Burnt reds, deep blacks, mineral greens and metallic golds form a rugged, almost geological surface. Layers of acrylic, plaster, wax, natural stones, pigments and textile mesh create real depth and relief, allowing the material itself to become part of the story.
The central opening suggests both a wound and… a passage: a place where memory remains, but also where renewal can begin. Created entirely by hand in El Bruc, near Montserrat, the work speaks about endurance, transformation and the strength of the earth.
The black wooden frame has also been handcrafted by the artist and is fully integrated into the artwork as part of the composition.
Signed on the front and back. Certificate of authenticity included. Ready to hang.
