About this artwork
This work, "Dynary Shonary," bears a title that combines the Japanese idiom "dainari shōnari" (larger or smaller) with a word coined by YUMI. The phrase "dainari shōnari" means that "to varying degrees, everything has an influence or effect" and "regardless of size, there is a truth common to all existence."
YUMI reinterpreted this universal concept from the perspective of "neo-conceptual character art." Dancing on the canvas is the embodiment of… "kotodama art," visualizing the soul residing in words. Fragments of the alphabet, symbolizing the beginning, transform into organic forms through repeated topology (continuous deformation). This torrent of "AlphapetZ" is the very energy that emerges from the black hole, where words give birth to more words, and ways of life become new expressions.
The vibrant orange background, combined with smooth curves refined using classical techniques, represents a "fusion of pop and discipline" unique to YUMI, who has simultaneously achieved commercial success and artistic rigor. As the title suggests, grand swells and small details coexist within the work, intricately intertwined to form a single universe. This is a metaphor for the truth that in the world we live in, even the smallest emotion or word equally influences and resonates with the whole.
The belief that "words reflect a person's way of life, and a person's way of life reflects their words." And a wish for an inclusive future that celebrates diverse characteristics not as "barriers" but as "unique abilities." Through the rich rhythms of "Dynary Shownary," viewers will rediscover that all emotions, big and small, within themselves are precious and enjoy the joy of playing freely.

一つは、アジア全域で多くの方に愛していただいた『パイローチもよ子』に象徴される、国境を越えた視覚伝達の力。台湾政府のプロジェクトや百貨店でのプロモーション、あるいはNEC、Canon、KAWASAKIといった企業との仕事を通じて、キャラクターが持つ圧倒的なエネルギーを社会に届けてきました。
そしてもう一つは、15年という歳月をかけ、日本の巨匠のもとで厳格に磨き続けてきたアカデミックな絵画技術です。高度な商業デザインの要求に応える一方で、私は古典的な技法の深淵に触れ、技術の研鑽を片時も忘れることはありませんでした。
この「ポップな瞬発力」と「古典の規律」という、一見相反する二重の歩みが、現在の私の核となる「ネオ・コンセプチュアル・キャラクターアート」という境地を形作っています。
最新プロジェクトである「CidderApetZ（サイダーペッツ）」では、私が長年大切にしてきた「言霊アート（言葉に宿る魂の可視化）」の哲学を具現化しています。言葉の奥に潜む目に見えないエネルギーを、唯一無二のキャラクターへと変換し、論理と流動性が交差する「サイバーガーデン」を構築すること。それが私の今の挑戦です。
私のアートは、観る人が社会的な重荷をふと脱ぎ捨て、自由に遊ぶ喜びを再発見するための「変容のスイッチ」でありたいと願っています。一人ひとりが持つ多様な特性を「壁」としてではなく、その人にしかない「輝く能力」として称賛する。そんな包括的な未来への架け橋となるべく、私はこれからも表現を進化させていきます。
