About this artwork
The Enchantress explores the quiet power of music to captivate, inspire, and complicate human relationships. I wanted to create a scene where the singer becomes more than a performer—she becomes a presence that draws every emotion in the room toward her, whether admiration, longing, or quiet frustration.
Rather than focusing on facial expressions, I relied on posture, gesture, lighting, and color to tell the story. The warm spotlight isolates the… singer while the seated couple reveal an unspoken tension through their body language. Each figure experiences the performance differently, reminding us that music is never heard in exactly the same way by two people.
Inspired by the atmosphere of Harlem's historic jazz clubs, I used deep blues, purples, and warm amber light to create an intimate setting where memory, romance, and performance intersect. For me, The Enchantress is about the emotional conversations that happen without a single word being spoken.

My roots in African American and Puerto Rican heritage infuse my vibrant styles with vibrant cultural storytelling. My work weaves together contemporary abstraction, urban folk narrative, and Afro-Caribbean symbolism. My working class parents were both creative people, he was an aspiring screenwriter, she was an aspiring fashion designer, they raised me in East Harlem NYC. I was a shy, introverted child with a lot of imagination. By my early twenties I worked my way through fashion and art school. Painting since I was 15, 40 years later I'm finally comfortable in my creativity and have devoted myself to exploring subjects and topics of interest to me. I'm neurodivergent so my styles vary, greatly. What brings me joy is knowing that I am contributing beauty and a piece of my heritage to those sophisticated enough to appreciate it. I have 3 cats, I also write novels and I'm working on an art book of my work to debut next year. My official studio site is : www.greenview-art-studio.com
