« Perfection is to be avoided at all costs... »
The German painter Ute Laum, born in 1957 in Bonn, has been working as a freelance artist in Kritzmow near Rostock since the late 90s. Among other things, she completed an artistic education under the painters Fritz Brockmann and Jürgen Weber.
Influenced by the north
Ute Laum's paintings incorporate her surroundings as a source of inspiration. The rough coastal landscapes, the untouched nature, the steady wind and the special light conditions in the northern parts of Germany shape the painter. Thus, in 2002 she became very enthusiastic about her artistic activity and representations of nature became her central theme.Lire la suite
Ute Laum creates her paintings on canvas using acrylics. For that, she
almost exclusively uses a wide flat brush, with which she intuitively creates layer by layer. Laum subtly balances the equilibrium of colors, the light and the dark, but also creates tension through intense contrasts and dynamic lines. Laum paints abstractly, thus reflecting moments of remembrance and impressions in her pictures, but also leaves room for the viewer to contemplate.
Since 2008, the artist regularly exhibits in Germany in private and public art institutions. Her work can be found in private collections in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Israel, the USA, Canada and the United Arab Emirates.Masquer
