About this artwork
In this oil painting, my inspiration centered on the unexpected harmonies in life's chaos. The young person, caught in a moment of both tenderness and control with the rooster, symbolizes our own attempts to embrace and understand the wild aspects of our existence. The intricate patterns of the carpet background speak to the complex tapestries of our personal histories and cultures. Bringing this piece into your home means inviting a reflection on… balance, beauty, and the resilience of the human spirit amidst life's unpredictabilities. I changed this painting a lot. Mostly since I could not decide on the gender of the keeper. It was genderless at first and then I made it feminine- but it looked wrong. The keeper wanted to be both so I turned it back into its original form. Alas it doesn't matter which gender of humankind wants to imprison free spirit. What matters is that we all try.
