About this artwork
This painting took a little more planning then my other work. I was very intentional with the idea of painting a castle nestled in fog, off in the distance, and placing the different elements around the lake. I wanted to create a sense of mystery because this is not just any castle, it is Hogwarts. A magical place hidden in the Scottish countryside. A boat hinting at a story of a quite escape. Someone looking back through the ethereal morning mist…
as it kisses the calm waters. My brushstrokes aim to evoke a sense of peace and reflection; an invitation to pause and resonate with nature’s quietude. A departure from my typical real locations, this is a created fantasy location. Every element, from the gently resting boat to the soft, enveloping fog, enhances the calm yet profound energies this painting brings into any space.
