Minori Shimizu is a Japanese artist based in Italy whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in the United States. Her distinctive and fantastical works are principally inspired by Japan as well as the four seasons and the elements. Shimizu's compositions of origami on cardboard are flattened and unpredictably transformed into striking color fields, creating figurations inspired by nature, fairy tales, and imagination.
