About this artwork
In GEON, I develop forms that draw on elementary geometry, but which shift towards more ambiguous, almost speculative presences, somewhere between mental structure, mutating object, and apparition from a possible elsewhere. My work consists of bringing these entities to life in a space where the gaze seeks recognition, hesitates, and then allows itself to be drawn into a more unstable and open experience of perception.

Paul Émile Rioux, a Montreal-based artist and photographer with a hybrid background (film, communication, marketing, and image), has been exploring digital creation and photography since the 1990s. He works between abstraction and figuration, constructing virtual landscapes that he models in 3D, intentionally incorporating algorithmic anomalies. His light dilates time and blurs perception, immersing the viewer in fascinating transitional spaces between reality and fiction. He seeks to evoke cognitive vertigo and wonder, inviting everyone to question their perception of the world and their personal memories of places.
