Break Stereotypes is an invitation to break labels, to look beyond what’s imposed and connect with who we truly are. This piece is not a battle between pink and blue. It’s a dialogue, a dance between what we were told we should be and what we choose to become. Break Stereotypes invites us to question, to explore, and to refuse to be boxed in. Because… each of us is more than a definition or a colour: we are an unrepeatable fusion of shades and tones that makes us unique.

I am Teresa Sanz Marín (Madrid, Spain), a Spanish abstract artist based in Amsterdam. I work with acrylic and mixed media techniques, creating layered compositions through a process of adding, removing, and rediscovering, allowing colour, texture, and form to evolve organically. Each painting retains the visible traces of its journey: subtle marks, shifts, and decisions that become part of the work’s final identity.
An important element of my work is the dialogue between image and language. Each artwork is accompanied by a title, a quote, and a short reflective text written by me — an essential part of my creative process that deepens the emotional connection between the viewer and the piece.
My work has been exhibited in the Netherlands at Blooming Gallery (Bergen, 2025), the solo window exhibition Imagine (Amsterdam, 2025), Weespers aan de Wand (Weesp, 2025), Kunstdorp aan Zee (Muiderberg, 2025), and Kunst10Daagse (Bergen, 2024).
