For German artist Isabel Kleinert, transforming her passion into a profession was one of the best decisions of her life. Five years ago, she fully committed to her artistic career, and today, her work is celebrated by collectors worldwide.
Inspired by Yves Klein, she dedicated many years mastering the technique of fixing ultramarine pigments on canvas, a breakthrough that has become central to her artistic identity. In addition to her pigment-based works, she also explores resin techniques, adding depth and variety to her portfolio.
Joining Singulart in 2022, Isabel has experienced steady success with a number of international sales. However, it was her most recent sale that provided a significant boost in motivation, leading her to upgrade the Platinum plan. This decision has brought a fresh energy to her practice, inspiring her to upload numerous new works and focus on expanding her presence in the American market.
Our Artist Success team enjoyed speaking with Isabel so much recently that they suggested we get in touch, get to know Isabel a little better and share her story.
Can you share a short introduction about yourself as an artist?
I am Isabel, a professional self-employed artist based in Germany. One of the very best decisions in my life was five years ago: I made my passion my profession! I am an abstract painter, and the special thing about my artwork is that I work with high-quality pure pigments that I buy from all over the world. I fix them onto canvas to achieve the extreme color intensity of my monochromatic artworks. Yves Klein is the artist I adore most, and it took me many years to find a method to fix pure ultramarine pigments. Now I create my monochromatic works in many colors and also explore another technique with resin works.

How has your journey with Singulart impacted your career? What motivated you to upgrade to the Platinum plan?
I sell my artworks through my network and exhibit in several exhibitions and self-organized art events in Stuttgart, Germany, each year. What I love about working with Singulart is that they sell most of my artworks abroad and overseas to very interesting collectors. Recently, I had several sales with the last one sent to a collector in Singapore. After that last sale, I decided to invest part of my profit from that artwork and upgraded to the Platinum plan on Singulart to continue experiencing such wonderful success.

What has been your most exciting or memorable sale since joining Singulart?
I was very happy to sell one piece to a collector in Tokyo after starting my cooperation with Singulart. But the most fantastic experience was showing a resin artwork in 2023 at a very exclusive designer showcase in the Hamptons, New York. The vibes there were extraordinary, and I think about it very often.
How has Singulart helped you connect with collectors internationally?
Singulart’s collectors and clients are from all over the world, which means my artwork is seen in many different countries. I sell 50% of my work to residential collectors and 50% to companies, and Singulart effectively reaches both of those types of clients.
What advice would you give to artists looking to grow their presence and sales online?
I think online sales are growing, and selling only through galleries and direct connections is just one part of the art market. Singulart is very well-positioned in the online art business.
Can you share an interesting story behind a piece you created?
I create special series in which I use sand from deserts that are meaningful to me—for example, the Sahara in Morocco, the Namib or Kalahari in Namibia, and the Atacama in Chile. I travel a lot, and during many adventurous trips, it has become important for me to collect and incorporate sand into my art.

Do you own any interesting artworks yourself?
Yes. My most beloved piece is “Aspera,” a male body sculpture made of mesh-steel by the famous artist David Begbie. His artworks come to life through their shadows, and I especially love seeing them alongside my pigment works!

Isabel’s dedication to her craft, paired with her ability to connect with collectors worldwide, has propelled her career forward. As she continues to create, exhibit, and sell through Singulart, Isabel is proof that talent, dedication, and the right platform can unlock endless possibilities for artists worldwide.
