A curation by Vlad Merariu, Curator at Dance Artworks Gallery - A choreographic reading of angelic form across media and eras. This selection spans oil, acrylic, ink on linen, collage, spray paint, gold leaf, and digital on plexiglass, moving from icon-inspired gilded surfaces to gestural abstraction and contemporary figurative studies. Wings become vectors, radial bursts, diagonals, and suspensions while torsos pivot between stillness and ascent. Motifs range from the watchful seraph (many eyes) to Cupid’s pop vernacular, from fallen bodies held in chiaroscuro to luminal silhouettes dissolving into haze. Palette swings from ultramarine and ash to incandescent golds and blood-reds, tracing the arc between protection, warning, and desire. Each work is sequenced like a score: impulse, lift, hover, release, the body as message, light as choreography. In brief: angel archetypes reimagined through motion, matter, and myth.
