El galardonado pintor ruso Alexey Akindinov ha mostrado su trabajo en Rusia, Europa y Estados Unidos. Akindinov emplea óleo sobre lienzo y utiliza técnicas de pintura clásicas y realistas mezcladas con un nuevo estilo: el "ornamentalismo". Este estilo, creado por Akindinov, implica patrones de encaje superimpuestos sobre escenas realistas y deconstrucción de objetos en diseños ornamentados e intrincados. Las obras resultantes son deslumbrantemente elaboradas e impresionantemente complejas, tanto en tema como en composición.
