« Traduzco el espacio tridimensional en composiciones aplanadas de patrón y color. Examino la interacción entre colores y formas. Lo que me interesa es cómo funciona finalmente en el lienzo. »
Crecí en una familia de artistas. Mi madre era costurera. Me fascinaron sus telas y colores. Mi padre era artista. Me permitió pintar con él sobre grandes lienzos. Lamentablemente murió muy joven. Allí estaba yo sentada en medio de todos estos lienzos, colores y pinceles. Fue entonces cuando comenzó mi amor por el arte. Capturo momentos de fugacidad y me dejo inspirar por la naturaleza y sus fenómenos. Por el movimiento del aire, las gotas de agua o la energía de una brisa. Mi arte se basa en la abstracción. Yo uso tela de algodón crudo. Me arrodillo sobre las telas grandes y vierto la pintura directamente sobre ellas. Juego con la profundidad de la imagen construyendo capas de color que parecen velos. Estos se fusionan en formas amorfas. El resultado son lavados con bordes delicados como plumas. Trabajo con pinturas acrílicas y aproximaciones a la técnica del tinte en remojo. Yo mismo monto mis bastidores y los estiro a mano.
