Rather than portraying Marilyn Monroe as a personality, I reinterpret her image by constructing it through multiple layers of texture, gold accents, and ornamental distortions. The surface of the canvas becomes a space of tension between glamour and its deconstruction.
This work belongs to the evolving… movement of Ornamental Expressionism, where visual richness is combined with structural fragmentation, forming a dialogue between luxury, image, and abstraction.

Dmitry Spiros (b. 1971, Tashkent) is a painter based in Cancún, Mexico. Trained in classical easel painting, he developed a distinctive visual language built on palette-knife structures, chromatic tension, and layered surface construction.
While his earlier works were rooted in contemporary impressionism — including landscapes and light-driven compositions — his recent practice focuses primarily on the human figure. Within this body of work, Spiros operates through what he defines as Ornamental Expressionism.
In this approach, ornament is not decorative embellishment but structural force. Repetition, rhythmic pattern, and fragmentation become emotional architecture. Faces and figures emerge from dense painterly systems where color organizes presence and surface tension replaces anatomical precision.
His works are held in private collections across Europe, Japan, North America, and beyond.
